Sweet Violet is a sweetly-scented spring-flowering perennial of hedges and woodland, often naturalised from gardens. The flowers are variable in colour, being violet, white or lilac.
It is similar in appearance to Dog-violet, but is scented, has blunt sepals, and the flowers arise from a central rosette of leaves.
