Black Bryony | Yam family |
Tamus communis | Dioscoreaceae |
Black Bryony is a climbing plant of hedgerows, with large heart-shaped leaves
and small greenish-yellow flowers. The scarlet berries are poisonous.
Despite sharing a name, it is not related to White Bryony,
which is also a climbing plant with red berries, but has tendrils and ivy-shaped leaves.
